About us...
"In 1999 a crack Ska unit was sent to prison by a military court for crimes against music they probably did commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Cambridge underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as musicians of fortune. Big 10 were formed in 1999 by Jason and Andy Periss. Realising that it was getting harder and harder to hear the music they love live, they formed Big 10. At the time, Jason was managing local Ska legends Colonel Hathi (from where singer Gary was recruited) and Andy was well established in the Cambridge music scene. The ambition was to create the most dynamic and exciting Ska tribute to their heroes for all the fellow fans out there. Renowed for a huge Ska sound, entertaining stage antics and a loyal following, Big 10 are one of the most popular tribute acts in the south east. With 8-10 musicians on stage at gigs, a brass section and 2/3 singers, a Big 10 performance is a real treat for the senses! Big 10 are lucky to have a group of seasoned performers - Jason and Gary have fronted and managed numerous bands, Chris, Dan, Ian and David have toured with both Bad Manners and Neville Staple of The Specials, Davey has recorded/toured with chart acts such as Seal and Sophie Ellis-Bexter. Former guitarist Andy is currently touring in Neville Staple's band and has assisted during the recent Specials tour. Keep on skanking!!!

To be read on the off beat. hi my name is aaron, i'm Big 10's biggest fan i love this lot so much, i offered to drive the van i'm now official roadie, and i'm really ska'd 4 life but i now see more of this lot, than i do my bloody wife alright birds my name is jase, you'll see me singing at the front the band gave me a nickname, but i think it's a little blunt i prefer the old one 'laughing boy', because i'm out to have some fun i wear the suits and silly hats, so enjoy it everyone hi my name is bill, the tallest in the brass you might say i stand out a bit, but i'm just a different class i play a shiny long trombone, and if you dance too near you may find when i let it out, it will smack you in the ear hi my name is chris, on stage i may look small but so would you stood next to bill, he's really really tall now i'm not blowing my own trumpet, 'cos i know that i'm the best and even though i'm a little short, i rise above the rest hi my name is dan, im the backbone of this band i command the stage and call the shots, with saxaphone in my hands now i play some awesome solo's, on sax or lead guitar and if this lot would stick with me, im sure that they'll go far my name is david edwards, and the crowd i aim to please now it's not as difficult as you think, when you're a master of the keys i base myself on jerry dammers, when i play i jump around, with two keyboards i play at once, to make the perfect sound hi my name is bug, i play the lead guitar and one day when i grow up, i wanna be a star i sent a demo to simon cowell, he really liked my style but you need to be 18 for x factor, so i'll have to wait a while my name is davey pollitt, there's always a big smile on my face there's nothing i love better, than playing offbeat on my bass now i don't claim to be the best, 'cos playing ska is fun but i've recorded with sophie ellis-bexter, and she made number one hi there i'm gary brown, i entertain you with my voice i love to sing reggae and ska, it's just the perfect choice now i've heard it said by many, my voice is quite unique but there's more to come from this splendid one, 'cos iv'e yet to reach my peak hi they call me danimal, the newest member of the band i turn into my alter ego, when i've a drumstick in my hand now i'm a massive 2tone fan, so this is a dream come true to play all my favourite songs, in a bid to entertain you hi there my name is rob, the soundman for big10 i push the slides and turn the knobs, then do it all again now you may think it's an easy job, to make this lot sound great it would if they made soundcheck on time, but they're always bloody late my name is gerry mctaggart, mr merch to all my pals i took the job to lend a hand, and help increase the sales now we've got cd's and big10 mugs, our tshirts set new trends but please don't ask for discount, as refusal often offends By Aaron.
